Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy is delighted to announce the appointment of Maria Rodriguez to its Board.

Ms. Rodriguez is a business professional with more than 15 years of experience in the private wealth management sector. Currently, she works at a global financial services company.
She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, as the eldest of four siblings in a family of Dominican immigrants. She says, "One of my greatest passions is patient advocacy, which began early in life as I supported my mother, who didn't speak English, in navigating her healthcare needs."
Today, Maria dedicates much of her free time to learning about patient safety and helping others in the community, particularly Spanish-speakers, access the care they deserve.
Maria hit the ground running at Pulse, working with the team planning Pulse's recent Family-Centered Patient Advocacy training and conference, where she was also a speaker. The two-day event trained both family caregivers and professional advocates in ways they can support patients and reduce the risk of medical error.
Pulse president Ilene Corina, BCPA, comments: "Maria was indispensable to the success of our Family-Centered Patient Advocacy event. She brings new perspectives and skills to Pulse, and we are delighted that she has agreed to devote her time and effort to the Board."
